Boruto: Naruto the movie – Special Gaiden

It has been over a year since Masashi Kishimoto decided to ring down the curtain on one of the most popular and epic Mangas of all time.

Ever since then the author has been releasing special Gaidens to throw some light on the new generation of ninjas. The latest release included a special gaiden for Boruto: Naruto the Movie. This time it’s about the day Naruto became the Hokage!

There were quite a few humorous bits in this chapter. Like how Boruto and Himawari wake up Naruto.

For someone who complaints about how his dad never pays him any attention, it looks like Naruto and Boruto did spend lot of time together before Naruto became the 7th Hokage.

It looked like the story focused on Naruto making it to the the Hokage Inauguration Ceremony. And after reading over 700 chapters of Naruto and countless other Mangas, you might have guessed it. Naruto never made it to the ceremony. Though you may argue that you don’t write 700 chapters about a boy fulfilling his dream of becoming the Hokage just so that he misses the inauguration ceremony. But then again it does add some twist to the story. Remember that this is just a one-shot though you and I might feel that this had to be a part of the main manga.

It would have been interesting to watch Naruto attend the ceremony but it was rather funny when Konahamaru decided to use the transformation jutsu to appear as Naruto for the ceremony.

 

If you’re wondering why Naruto never made it, you are in for a big surprise! Ever since chapter 700 showed us Boruto and Himawari for the very first time, people have been debating whether they’d have the Byakugan. It looked like their eyes didn’t really look like a Hyuga eye but even then you know you wanted them to have the Byakugan anyway. And your patience has been rewarded. Himawari has awakened her Byakugan!

Yes! Finally! Though it wasn’t shown anywhere about Boruto releasing his Byakugan. I guess it’d only be a matter of time. There was a sibling quarrel about bringing a toy to the ceremony that ended with the stuffed toy being split into two. Looks like an emotional outbreak led to Himawari’s Byakugan release. Naruto stepped in and took the hit. It looked like he’d be incapacitated for the rest of the day.

Nonetheless it was surely a comic relief to see one more Naruto chapter coming out. Seeing that it’s a special gaiden, we can’t be expecting any more chapters to follow this.
